Oil on Canvas. I found this GP unit idling quietly on a small local shortline one Saturday afternoon. The strong directional light caused a lot of variations in the Amour Yellow (UP's official name for their yellow paint). The rust, grime and bullet holes in the short hood gave the locomotive a lot of character, so I decided to paint a portrait of this little warhorse.
Really great, not just details but captures "the stories it could tell"
Great realism, it certainly has that rustic feel in the lighting and colour choices. What size is your canvas roughly?
oh so wonderfully detailed and fantastic!
